List of Candidates

Ing. Kareem Issam Abdallah
Department of International Economic Relations
I see the FIR as a faculty with a distinct international profile, a strong academic tradition, and great potential for the future. I am running for the FIR Academic Senate with the goal of fostering an open, modern, and fair academic environment where both students and staff are truly heard, and where high-quality teaching, research, practical experience, and an international perspective naturally come together.
Thanks to my culturally diverse background and experiences living in various countries, I understand the international environment not only theoretically but also personally. I understand how important it is to grasp different cultural contexts, to be able to connect diverse perspectives, and to seek solutions that work beyond a purely domestic perspective. At the same time, I am professionally involved in European projects, and thanks to my studies in European Studies, I am familiar with the European context, the institutional environment, and the practical issues of international cooperation.
As a representative of the younger generation of the academic community, I would like to bring energy, a fresh perspective on global trends, and a willingness to think outside the box to the Senate. I consider innovative approaches, streamlining existing processes, transparent communication, and constructive dialogue across the faculty to be particularly important. In my view, a modern faculty should not merely react to changes, but should be able to recognize them in a timely manner and leverage them for the benefit of its students, faculty, and long-term development.
I believe that the FIR should be a confident, respected, and inspiring faculty that is in tune with the modern world: open, efficient, international, culturally sensitive, and ready for new challenges. I would like to actively contribute to this as a member of the Academic Senate.

Ing. Lucie Adreisová, Ph.D.
Department of Business and European Law
I have been associated with FIR for twenty years — first as an undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral student, and later as a teaching assistant and instructor in executive education. In addition to my academic background, I have more than twelve years of experience in management roles in international business and also work as a consultant in the areas of compliance, business ethics, and risk management. From 2021 to 2024, I chaired the VŠE Ethics Committee.
I view the FIR Academic Senate as an important part of academic self-governance and a space for open professional discussion about the future direction of the faculty. I am running with the goal of supporting the further development of the FIR as a modern and respected faculty that combines a high-quality academic environment with the needs of the professional world and supports both its students and staff. In the role of senator, I would like to bring a combination of academic experience, knowledge of how organizations function, and an emphasis on the responsible and long-term sustainable operation of the faculty.

Ing. Josef Bič, Ph.D.
Department of International Economic Relations
As a member of the FIR Academic Senate, I would like to contribute to the development of the faculty as an institution that builds on its strengths, high-quality teaching, international focus, the expertise of its faculty, and its openness to new challenges. I see the FIR as a space that should offer students and staff not only a high level of academic excellence, but also a friendly, mutually respectful, and creative environment that fosters collaboration, initiative, and personal growth. In my work, I would also like to draw on my experience from serving on the University-wide Senate, of which I am a member. Open and transparent communication, courtesy, support for the academic community, and a long-term vision of the faculty as an inspiring place for study, research, and professional growth are important to me.

Mgr. Halka Čapková, Ph.D.
Department of English
I have been working at the Faculty of International Relations at the University of Economics in Prague for nearly 30 years, the last three of which I have spent as the head of the Department of English. I have long been dedicated to teaching academic English and to innovation in teaching. Fifteen years ago, I founded an authorized center for Cambridge exams, which allows VŠE students to receive targeted preparation for internationally recognized language certificates as part of their studies and to take the exams in the familiar environment of the university. For the second year in a row, I have also been organizing an English Language Olympiad for elementary and high school students.
I have been a member of the Academic Senate since 2011, and since 2018 I have also served on the Academic Senate of VŠE. My motivation for running for this position stems from my long-standing interest in the quality of teaching, student support, and the faculty’s ability to respond flexibly to changes in society and the labor market. In the Academic Senate, I want to promote language instruction combined with a focus on soft skills, the use of modern teaching methods, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into learning and teaching, while also actively contributing to the creation of a positive work environment for both academic and administrative staff at the FIR VŠE.

Ing. Iveta Černá, Ph.D.
Department of International Business
I have been a member of the Department of International Business at the Faculty of International Business since 2005. My research focuses on international business, foreign direct investment, and the conduct of business operations. I teach two undergraduate courses required for the final state examination: “Doing Business in a Globalized Environment” and “International Business Operations.” I have been a member of the FIR Disciplinary Committee since 2024. From 2011 to 2014, I served on the FIR Academic Senate.
I am running for the FIR Academic Senate because, in the coming term, I aim to continue innovating teaching and assessment methods in line with the current needs of students and business practice, thereby ensuring the relevance of students’ knowledge, competencies, and skills in the fields of International Trade and International Business. I am therefore actively involved in the development of the updated International Trade bachelor’s program, I am continuously pursuing professional development in the areas of subject matter, didactics, and educational psychology, and I am participating in a job shadowing program at the Trade & Correspondent Banking department of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic & Slovakia.

Ing. Zbyněk Dubský, Ph.D.
Department of International and Diplomatic Studies
I am a faculty member at the Department of International and Diplomatic Studies, where my research focuses on the distribution of power in the international system, international security relations, and energy security. I also address these topics in my publications and research. My academic career and professional path have long been associated with the Faculty of International Relations. I have served on the FIR Academic Senate on several occasions; I see its significance primarily in responsibly shaping the academic environment, overseeing decision-making processes, and fostering open discussion about the faculty’s direction. I am convinced that collegiality, mutual respect, and a willingness to engage in substantive dialogue are prerequisites for the faculty’s further development and the strengthening of its prestige. I would like to contribute to this in the coming term as well.

PhDr. Miroslava Ferrarová
Department of Romance Languages
I have been working at the Department of Romance Languages since 2006, where I teach Italian. My work has long focused on language education and working with students, with whom I share not only an interest in the Italian language, but also in Italian culture and society.
I am running for the Senate because I would like to actively participate in decision-making regarding faculty affairs and contribute my experience. My interests include reading, politics, and the Italian mafia.

Ing. Alena Filipová, Ph.D.
Department of International Business
I work at the Department of International Business. I primarily teach at the master’s level, specifically in the required course International Management and in courses for the Retail Business minor. I also enjoy supervising bachelor’s and master’s theses, as this allows me to work one-on-one with students on topics that interest both of us. In the field of research, I am very interested in topics related to sustainability, both in academic and practical terms, where the results are directly applicable in practice. I am currently involved in two projects focused on the issue of food waste, but I also make sure to continuously devote myself to my area of specialization: retailing, e-commerce, and management.
My professional life is closely tied to the Faculty of International Relations, which is why I care not only about how the faculty functions internally — that is, in creating a supportive and inspiring environment for staff and students — but also about how it presents itself to the outside world to build greater prestige. And the Senate can contribute to that.

PhDr. Lenka Kalousková, Ph.D.
Department of German
My work at the FIR is also my passion, which is why I am deeply committed to ensuring that teaching is modern, interactive, and truly beneficial. I know from experience that quality teaching doesn’t just happen in the classroom; it also depends on good conditions and a fair academic environment. That is another reason why I take an interest in what is happening at the FIR and in its future direction. I view my work on the Senate, of which I have been a member since 2012, as an opportunity to actively engage in dialogue with student and faculty representatives across the faculty and to help ensure that the environment at FIR is stimulating, open, and fair.

Mgr. Ing. Jan Levý, Ph.D.
Department of Business and European Law
I am 41 years old. I came to the Faculty of Law in 2004 as a student. And I haven’t left since. I love our faculty. I especially enjoy teaching our students. I am a lawyer and I have my own law firm. I go to courts, government offices, and prisons. Sometimes I even interpret there (for which I am also grateful to our linguists). Occasionally I take students to court or to prisons, sometimes even colleagues from VŠE. I also take them out of prison. Sometimes…
But let’s get a little more serious. I want to help the faculty in ways other than just as a teacher. I can ensure that procedures and internal regulations comply with the law. I want to support interdisciplinary collaboration, not just within the faculty; I want to help foster high-quality and, if possible, friendly relationships among faculty members across departments and units, and above all, promote free discussion.

Mgr. Renata Lukášová
Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management
I believe in a modern university that combines a high-quality academic environment with practical experience, a human touch, and open communication. That is why I am running for the Academic Senate. I believe that my ability to listen to students, understand the needs of the field, and bridge different worlds can be my greatest contribution. At the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, in addition to teaching, I oversee internships and support students as they take their first professional steps. I deeply appreciate the trust students place in me, and I consider it a great responsibility. My entire professional life has been spent in the fields of hospitality, gastronomy, event management, and education. I have had the opportunity to work in the international hotel industry, gastronomic projects, and educational initiatives. Thanks to this, I understand how important it is for the school to stay connected to the real world and prepare students not only professionally but also personally. I believe that expertise and professionalism can go hand in hand with respect, cooperation, and a healthy sense of perspective. And perhaps even a touch of humor—because education is not just about knowledge, but also about the atmosphere in which it is acquired.

doc. JUDr. Ing. Tomáš Moravec, Ph.D.
Department of Business and European Law
I am a faculty member in the Department of Business and European Law and also practice law. I have previously served on the Academic Senate, and I would therefore like to build on my past experience, participate in the running of the faculty, and contribute my views to its positive development. Last but not least, I would like to once again play an active role in drafting faculty regulations approved by the Senate.

Mgr. Pavla Nováková
Department of English
I have been working at the FIR VŠE for 15 years, and my work at the Department of English continues to be deeply fulfilling. I am running for the first time for the FIR Academic Senate with a vision of a modern faculty that responds flexibly to challenges such as the rise of AI. In my professional English courses, I see every day that combining subject-specific knowledge with soft skills is key to students’ success in an international environment. However, we can only achieve this through close collaboration between our language and subject-specific departments. I view the FIR as a stable employer that supports innovation. I would like to contribute in the Senate to our joint efforts to integrate language training with professional education and create an environment where interdepartmental synergy becomes the norm. Thank you for your vote and the opportunity to help shape the future of our faculty.

doc. Ing. Květa Olšanová, Ph.D.
Department of International Business
I work at the Department of International Business at the Faculty of International Business of the University of Economics, Prague, where I focus on international marketing and luxury brand marketing. In my teaching, I combine academic knowledge with more than a decade of experience in marketing and management roles at international companies. I teach in both Czech and English-language programs and supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses.
What I enjoy most about my work at the faculty is collaborating with students and the opportunity to observe their professional and personal development throughout their studies. As a teacher, I consider the greatest reward to be the moment when students gain self-confidence, acquire new skills, and discover their own professional direction. That is why I am committed to supporting activities that develop not only professional knowledge but also critical thinking, creativity, international experience, and the ability to respond to the rapidly changing demands of the professional world.
I believe that one of the faculty’s main missions is to prepare students not only professionally but also for the challenges of today’s international environment. I would like to support activities that strengthen the connection between study and practice, develop students’ competencies, and contribute to making the FIR a place where students receive a quality education and inspiration for their future professional careers.

doc. Ing. Přemysl Průša, Ph.D.
Department of International Business
I work at the Department of International Business, where I focus on retail business, branding, and sustainability. I teach key required courses, particularly in the International Business bachelor’s program: Retail Business, International Entrepreneurship, and Entrepreneurship in a Global Environment, in both Czech and English. I strive to manage and coordinate the Department of International Business so that it effectively delivers high-quality educational and research outcomes while respecting the individual strengths and needs of all colleagues.
I have served on the FIR Academic Senate in previous terms. I would like to continue this work so that I may influence developments at the FIR and contribute to shaping its strategy and structure through mutual dialogue with all colleagues and students.

Mgr. Ing. Pavel Přikryl, Ph.D.
Department of International and Diplomatic Studies
I work as an assistant professor in the Department of International and Diplomatic Studies, where I focus on issues related to the developing world, particularly Asia and Africa, and teach graduate-level courses in both Czech and English. I am involved with CRENDES, a research network focused on global development and sustainability, which allows me to connect theoretical knowledge with practical issues in development policy and to collaborate with experts from other universities and research institutions. I represented the Faculty of International Relations on the Council of Higher Education Institutions, where I served on the Commission for Educational Activities. I have been a member of the FIR Academic Senate since 2020, and in the next term I would like to build on my work to date. I view the Academic Senate as a space for dialogue and collaboration across departments and between faculty and students. I want to promote modern approaches to education and the internationalization of FIR, thereby contributing to the enhancement of our faculty’s quality and international prestige.

Mgr. Miroslav Rončák, Ph.D.
Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management
In my work and research, I rely on the principles of communication, cooperation, and coordination — and I would like to apply these principles to the functioning of the FIR Academic Senate. I believe that the Senate should be the true voice of the academic community. I want to listen to you, the students and faculty, take an interest in your suggestions, needs, and ideas, and actively incorporate them into our collective decision-making. Just as in my research on sustainable tourism, I listen to various stakeholders and focus on ensuring that the voices of those who are often overlooked are heard, thereby contributing to an open environment where everyone can participate. My goal is to support the further development of the FIR so that it becomes a respected and inspiring place for students and academics—not only at home but also in an international context.
I have over 30 years of practical experience in international tourism; I have managed the promotion of the Czech Republic in Germany and collaborated on international projects with UNWTO as well as at prestigious European universities, such as the Sorbonne. Every day, I am convinced of how essential it is for our students to connect theory with practice—I consider this to be key to quality education and success in real life. For this reason, I strive to ensure that our students acquire not only theoretical knowledge but also skills that will stand up in an international environment.

doc. Ing. Zuzana Stuchlíková, Ph.D.
Department of International Economic Relations
This is not the first time I have run for the FIR Academic Senate, as I consider it a vital part of the faculty, not just a formal institution. I would like the Senate to be an even more active platform for discussion in the next term, one that meaningfully connects the various levels of the faculty, particularly the faculty and student bodies. The Senate should be able to ask even uncomfortable questions and should be capable of responding to new issues that affect the day-to-day life of the faculty.
At FIR, I work primarily in the Department of International Economic Relations, where students can meet me mainly at the master’s level. I also head the Center for Asian Studies (CAS). My professional interests focus primarily on the Japanese and other Asian economies, and I study significant long-term trends in the global economy.

doc. Ing. Peter Vittek, Ph.D.
Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management
I believe that education is one of the most important ways to advance society. The university’s role is to help people better understand the world, foster public discourse, and prepare students for responsible professional and social roles. That is why I believe it makes sense to create an environment where education, expertise, openness, and humanity naturally come together.
As a newcomer to your ranks, I have grown very fond of the Faculty of International Relations. I appreciate its atmosphere, its breadth of expertise, and the people I have had the opportunity to meet here. That is precisely why I would like to become more actively involved in its future direction and contribute to ensuring that the Faculty of International Relations remains an open, self-assured, high-quality institution that is easily understood by students, academics, and the broader public.
Above all, I offer the ability to bridge different worlds and view matters from a multidisciplinary perspective. In my work, I strive to combine academia, teaching, research, and practice; to connect students with real-world challenges; to share research findings; to draw inspiration from effective practical solutions; and to bring topics such as transportation, tourism, sustainability, public administration, and entrepreneurship into the academic environment. I believe that the ability to bring together different perspectives is crucial for today’s universities.

Vita Antoniuk
Bachelor’s Program, 1st Year, International Business
Hi, I’m a student at FIR, and I’m running for the Academic Senate alongside Ladislav Husák because I want the school to finally work more for students than against them.
I care about the issues students face every day — study conditions, functional facilities, and making student life at FIR more meaningful. I don’t want to just stand by and point out what’s wrong. I want to truly represent students and drive change on the issues that actually affect them.

Bc. Patrik Brabenec
Master’s Program, 1st Year, Green Transition and European Competitiveness
Why am I running for the FIR Student Senate? Because I want students’ voices to be heard where real decisions are made. I want to build on the work of the outgoing student senators, whom I have long held in high regard. Thanks to my contacts across the entire faculty, I always have my finger on the pulse of what’s happening and keep track of the buzz in the hallways, what we as students are experiencing, what works, and where we’re struggling. I understand the real needs of students in all fields, and because of that, in the Senate I won’t speak for myself, but for all of us.
I want the FIR to be a place full of opportunities and personal growth for each of us, but also an environment where people feel comfortable and enjoy spending time. In the Senate, I will serve as your direct and reliable liaison to the administration; I will advocate for transparent communication and support projects that make our studies easier and more enjoyable for all of us. Thank you for your trust and every vote! 🙂

Jiří Calda
Bachelor’s Program, 3rd Year, International Business
I am running for the FIR Academic Senate because I believe the faculty can play an even greater role in students’ professional development. Thanks to my experience at FIR, my study abroad program at the University of Michigan, and my work at Škoda Auto and Volkswagen Group Services, I have come to realize how important high-quality opportunities, connections to the professional world, and keeping students informed about these opportunities are.
At FIR, I work as a research assistant in the Department of International Economic Relations, and I also contributed to the development of the FIR Acceleration Program, which focuses on supporting students in their career development. It is precisely greater support for students’ professional development, expanding opportunities, and linking studies with the real world that are the areas I would like to focus on in the Senate.

Monika Douchová
Bachelor’s Program, 1st Year, International Business
Even though I am a first-year student, I have been actively involved in our faculty’s operations since September, through the SKOK club and the Student Mentoring program. The past few months have reinforced my determination to do my utmost for our school, to bring a fresh perspective, and to channel my energy into concrete actions that will further improve the quality of life at FIR.
My main goal in the Senate will be the continuous improvement of our faculty and the creation of the best possible environment for all of us. I want to serve as a reliable bridge between the administration and you — I am deeply committed to open communication and the regular, clear sharing of information about what is actually happening in the Senate. I would be very grateful for your vote so that I can actively listen to your suggestions on campus and vigorously defend our shared student interests.

Petra Galanidisová
Bachelor’s Program, 4th Year, International Business
For me, the FIR Academic Senate represents an opportunity to make things better. As a current senator, I already understand how its decision-making processes work — from budget approval to the faculty’s future direction. In the coming term, I would like to focus on issues that directly impact our daily lives at the school.
But I also know the faculty from a different perspective. I’m part of the faculty’s PR team, so we may have met at events like Open House, the Dean’s Quiz, or Student Mentoring last year. Thanks to this, I know how FIR works from the inside, and I want to bring this experience to the next term. Besides that, I was part of the SKOK student association, and thanks to a semester in England, I know what university life is like abroad.
I want FIR to be a faculty where students are listened to. If you want someone with experience and insight on the Senate, I’d be happy to continue representing you. You can find our plans at www.studentistudentum.com.

Bc. Selin Garip
Master’s Program, 1st Year, International Business
I am a student in the International Business master’s program. I am actively involved in student life; I am a member of SKOK and also serve on the University-wide Academic Senate at VŠE. Thanks to this experience, I have a better understanding of how the Senate operates, how communication with university leadership works, and how important it is for the student perspective to be heard in decision-making processes.
I am running for the FIR Academic Senate because I would like to bring my experience to the faculty level and serve as an active representative of FIR students. I would like to focus on issues that affect students in their daily studies, such as clearer communication of information, greater transparency regarding changes and rules, support for student initiatives, and opportunities for feedback on the functioning of classes and the faculty.
I want to serve as a liaison between students and the faculty, someone students can turn to with their suggestions, questions, and problems. At the same time, I would like to help ensure that student opinions are not only collected but also genuinely reflected in faculty debates and decision-making.

Ing. Jakub Hrdina
Doctoral Program, 1st Year, International and Diplomatic Studies
I have considered the FIR my alma mater since 2019 — I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees here, and last fall I began my first year of doctoral studies. I am grateful to the faculty for more than I originally expected: two Erasmus exchanges in the Netherlands and Germany, an internship in Australia, and many other experiences that continue to shape me to this day. And I believe that by running for the Academic Senate, I can give back what the faculty has given me.
This semester, I also began teaching a seminar in the bachelor’s course Contemporary IR. Because I now know both sides (in the classroom and behind the lectern), I can better understand what students truly need and advocate for it in a realistic way. I consider study abroad programs to be one of the most valuable experiences the faculty offers, and I will strive to ensure that students can participate in Erasmus and internships without worrying that it will complicate their academic progress.

Ladislav Husák
Bachelor’s Program, 1st Year, International Business
Hi, I’m Ladislav Husák, and I’m running for the Academic Senate alongside Vita Antoniuk because I want the school to finally work more for students than against them. I care about the issues students face every day — study conditions, functional facilities, and making student life at FIR more meaningful. I don’t want to just stand by and point out what’s wrong. I want to truly represent students and drive change on the issues that actually affect them.

Natálie Knitlová
Bachelor’s Program, 1st Year, International Business
I’m a first-year student at FIR, and I’ve been a member of the SKOK student association since September. This experience has really helped me grow and shown me just how strong our community is. I absolutely love the faculty, but at the same time, I see that there are still plenty of things that can be improved and taken to the next level.
And that’s exactly why I decided to run for the FIR Academic Senate. I want to be the voice of all of us—not just those who are the loudest, but also the quieter ones among us, whose opinions and ideas are just as important to the running of the faculty. My motivation is to pass this energy on, to connect students with faculty, and above all, to make studying at FIR easier and more enjoyable for all of us.

Mgr. Anna Kretková
Doctoral Program, 3rd Year, Business and International Economic Law
I am a third-year doctoral student at the FIR, and it is precisely this experience that allows me to view the faculty in a broader context—not only as a place of study, but also as a space for professional growth, open discussion, and the development of the academic community. I am running for the FIR Academic Senate because I care deeply about ensuring that the faculty is an environment where students feel heard, respected, and have the opportunity to actively influence what happens around them.
I would like to contribute to improving communication between students and faculty, supporting a high-quality learning environment, and increasing student involvement in faculty life. As a doctoral student, I also recognize the need to bridge the student perspective with insights into teaching, research, and the long-term development of the faculty. I believe that the Senate should be a place for substantive dialogue, collaboration, and responsible decision-making, and that is precisely what I would like to contribute to.

Bc. Ráchel Lokvencová
Master’s Program, 2nd Year, International Business
In this election, I am running for re-election as a member of the FIR Academic Senate, and for that reason alone, I am well aware of how the Senate operates and the important decisions I can help shape — from approving the budget to electing a new dean. I would like to continue being part of these processes and represent students in decisions that impact their studies and the functioning of the faculty itself.
During my studies, I had the opportunity to get involved in activities not only at the FIR but also across the entire VŠE. For example, I gained experience with how student associations and faculty bodies operate, made great connections, and traveled abroad several times. It is precisely thanks to these experiences that I believe I can continue to effectively represent you and your interests in the FIR Academic Senate. You can find out more about me and my fellow candidates at www.studentistudentum.com.

Peter Luca
Bachelor’s Program, 3rd Year, International Business
After three years of studying at the FIR, I see and understand not only the positives but also the negatives of this faculty, and that is precisely why I am running for the Academic Senate. My exchange program in the U.S. showed me what works elsewhere and what could work here as well. I want to bring about concrete changes: clearer communication, more practical teaching, and real support for everyone, not just those who already know their way around the system. If you want someone on the Senate who knows the faculty from the inside and isn’t afraid to speak up, I’d appreciate your vote.

Jakub Matiášek
Bachelor’s Program, 1st Year, International and Diplomatic Studies
As a candidate for the FIR Academic Senate, I can offer my work, time, and dedication. I view my candidacy as an opportunity to serve a higher and necessary cause. I would therefore like to become actively involved in the faculty’s affairs and administration as soon as possible and lend a hand wherever I believe hard work is needed.
My main goal is to support and develop the friendly and academic environment at the FIR, as I consider it fundamental. Furthermore, I would like to help connect people not only from our faculty but also from others, because I believe that these connections are invaluable. I would also like to serve as a liaison between students and the faculty administration.

Nguyen Thao Le
Bachelor’s Program, 2nd Year, International Business
I am studying International Business, and as a member of the SKOK student association, I see the FIR primarily as a strong community of students. VŠE has opened the door to so many opportunities for me that I now look to my future with confidence, and I want to build on that energy and pass it on. In the Academic Senate, I plan to address real issues that impact our student life, such as fair study conditions and greater transparency regarding career opportunities. I know how to see ideas through to the end, and in the Senate, I will be your voice. I want our faculty to be a place for all of us — one that moves us forward and keeps us together.

Bc. David Novák
Master’s Program, 1st Year, International Business
I ended up at this faculty after a journey that wasn’t always easy for me. That makes it all the more meaningful to me that I can say today it was one of the best decisions of my life. From the very beginning, school wasn’t just about studying and credits for me — after all, “debit and credit” wasn’t exactly my favorite subject — but mainly about the people I met here and the experiences I gained over the years. It was here that I found friends with whom I could share both my studies and everyday life, and together we gradually created our own student activities and the Communitas Bohemica – VŠE association, where I now serve as president. Thanks to this, the faculty is not just an institution to me, but a place with which I have a personal connection.
I am running for the Academic Senate because I would like other students to have a similar experience. So that the university is not perceived merely as a duty and the completion of coursework, but as a space where one can grow, meet people, and take advantage of the opportunities available here, whether they involve clubs, sports, study abroad programs, mentoring, or various events. I believe that many of these opportunities aren’t always visible at first glance, which is precisely why I’d like to help bring them closer to students, so that they leave the faculty not only with a diploma, but also with something that will stay with them for much longer.

Bc. Lucia Poláková
Master’s Program, 1st Year, International Business
Over the past four years, FIR has served as my starting point and preparation for adult life. In addition to academic skills, I am grateful to it for the opportunity to apply my acquired knowledge in practice, to travel to Paris on Erasmus, to participate in mentoring, and to serve for the third year in the faculty association SKOK, where I had the opportunity to serve in leadership and get to know the needs and ideas of students more closely.
That is why I am now running for the FIR Academic Senate, where I want to continue listening to students in the early stages of adulthood and represent their voice in the Senate. My goal is to contribute to the innovation of our faculty, create a competitive environment for students, and above all, promote transparent communication between the university and students so that everyone can fully take advantage of the opportunities FIR offers. I would also like to draw on my experiences abroad and my active involvement in the FIR student community.

Bc. Šimon Slivanský
Master’s Program, 1st Year, International and Diplomatic Studies
At first glance, the FMV Academic Senate appears to be a purely formal body that discusses and approves the faculty budget, elects the dean, and so on. However, thanks to my experience as a senator so far, I also see it as a space for equal discussion among students, faculty, and the FMV administration, where everyone can present their comments and ideas for improving our faculty. For example, before the last Senate elections, I advocated for the elimination of the unnecessary Skills4Studies course requirement, which was eventually quietly discontinued. 💪
During my first term, I also successfully revived the @Asfmvvse Instagram profile and began transparently informing students about Senate activities. During my second term, I mainly want to focus on 1️⃣ implementing projects initiated by the Senate (e.g., group therapy for students); 2️⃣ creating a platform that brings together all FMV students; 3️⃣ deepening cooperation with successful FMV graduates (i.e., the Alumni Club). Just as in past elections, however, I would also appreciate your ideas for further improvements to FMV: https://forms.gle/5YLMxaYeXLxiveq39.
Thank you for your trust so far and for your vote in the upcoming election! 😀
