Scientific Board

Scientific Board is according to the Section 25, subsection 1 of the Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education Institutions and on Amendments and Supplements to some other Acts (The Higher Education Act) an autonomous academic official body.

Scientific Board

  1. Discusses the draft of the strategic plan of the faculty in the areas of teaching, and creative activities, elaborated in compliance with the strategic plan of the public higher education institution 

  2. Approves the drafts of the degree programmes that are to be offered by the faculty and proceeds them via the Rector in order to be approved by the Scientific Board of the public higher education institution 

  3. Proposes plans to the Rector to submit requests for accreditations, the extending of accreditations, or the extending of the validity of accreditations of degree programmes which are offered by the faculty 

  4. Proposes plans to the Rector to submit requests for the accreditation of habilitation procedures and procedures for the appointment of professors, in the case of procedures being carried out at the faculty

  5. Plays its role, to the extent provided for by this Act, in the procedures for the appointment of professors and for conferring “venium docendi” (habilitation)

  6. Expresses its view particularly on matters presented to it by the Dean
