By-elections to the VŠE Academic Senate: FIR Is Looking for a Student Representative

The Presidium of the VŠE Academic Senate has announced by-elections for the remainder of the 2024–2027 term. One newly elected representative will speak for the students of the Faculty of International Relations in the university’s highest self-governing body. The election takes place on Thursday, October 15, 2026, and applications can be submitted until October 8.

The VŠE Academic Senate (AS VŠE) is filling vacant seats. The by-elections will fill open places in the student chamber, with a mandate lasting until June 12, 2027. Besides one representative for FIR, one representative each will be elected for students of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting (FFA) and the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA).

When and how will the election take place?

The election will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Who are the candidates?

Interested FMV students could submit their applications until October 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM.

The following candidates are running (in alphabetical order):

• Bc. Kateřina Drahošová, N-MS, 1st year of follow-up Master’s study

• Bc. Valeriia Tsyhanchuk, N-UT, 1st year of follow-up Master’s study

• Ing. Martin Zíka, N-MO, 3rd year of follow-up Master’s study

Campaign rules

Candidates may start campaigning immediately after the election was announced and continue until election day. The following rules apply to campaigning on the VŠE campus:

• The campaign must be conducted by the candidate in person, or by other members of the FIR academic community.
• Campaigners must comply with generally binding legal regulations and the university’s internal rules, including the VŠE Code of Ethics.
• Disrupting or otherwise limiting teaching and other educational or creative activities at the university is strictly prohibited.
