FIR Academicians met up with Věra Jourová and Members of the European Parliament

At the beginning of February, FIR representatives from Department of International Economic Relations took part in a 2-day study trip of the European Commission in Brussels, which was held by the European Commission Representative Office in the Czech Republic. Delegation of Czech universities’ academicians attended several workshops and meetings with the European Commission’s and the European Parliament’s officials.

During the first day, FIR academicians got together with the Vice-President of the European Commission Věra Jourová with whom they had a discussion over her current agenda. They also underwent a lecture with a representative from the Directorate-General for the Environment and met up with the Members of the European Parliament – FIR Alumnus Dita Charanzová, the Vide-President of the European Parliamanet and FIR Alumnus in one person – Marcel Kolaja, and Luděk Niedermayer.

During the second day, the delegation was engaged in the EU’s Digital Agenda and Taxonomy and Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union which was previously also debated with representatives of the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the EU.
