Dr. Kataryna Shymanska from the Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University has become a host professor at FIR

From 1 April 2022, dr. Kataryna Shymanska from the Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University has become a host professor at the Department of International Economic Relations at FIR. At the Zhytomyr University, she worked as the Head of the Department of Digital Economics and International Economic Relations. Nowadays, dr. Shymanska is working on two courses: World Economy and Digital Economy. These courses will be offered to the group of Ukrainian students that came to VŠE after the start of the war. Courses will be lectured in English with the possible support in Ukrainian language. Dr. Shymanska will be teaching undergraduate courses during the fall term and she will also become a member of the Team for Implementation of the LMS (Learning Management System) as she already has an experience in this field from her home university.

The FIR is actively helping students and academic workers who were forced to flee from Ukraine due to the war. The Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, doc. Ing. Josef Taušer, Ph.D., comments: “Many Ukrainians reached to us and we are very happy to accept prof. Shymanska from April 2022. She will contribute to our courses, research and some other project activities. We have managed to find another institution for her collegue and we are still communicating with another one.”
