That is exactly what FMV Alumni Mentoring is about – a programme connecting students and recent graduates (within three years of graduation) with FMV alumni who are happy to share their experience, insights, and professional connections.

Taking part in Alumni Mentoring as a mentee was a great bridge between returning from my study abroad experiences in France and Switzerland and getting involved in faculty life again during my final year of my Master’s studies. 🎓
Over the months of mentoring, my mentor Bára and I explored our shared field of HR from A to Z over coffee, attended the largest career fair in the Czech Republic together, and, through her perspective, I also had the opportunity to get a glimpse into the world of coaching.
The “How to Find a Job that Truly Excites You, Not Just Looks Good on Paper” workshop was another valuable experience that helped me clarify what I was looking for in my first full-time role after graduation – and, after completing my thesis, successfully find that role. ☁️
Whether you are a Bachelor’s or Master’s student or a recent graduate, preparing for or returning from a study abroad experience, already working or looking for a job, or simply looking for some extra inspiration, I couldn’t recommend Alumni Mentoring more. ✨

I joined the mentoring programme because I wanted to gain more clarity about the direction my international HR career could take and the opportunities it could offer. The programme gave me the chance to gain inspiration and a different perspective from experienced and successful alumni, while also providing space to work on my own goals and expand my professional network.
My mentor Míša and I agreed on the format and frequency of our meetings based on our schedules, and we decided to stay in touch even after the official programme ended. I would recommend mentoring to anyone, whether they already have a clear career direction in mind or are still figuring it out. It offers valuable perspectives and, above all, the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals.

Right after graduating from university, I often wondered whether I had chosen the right career path. Alumni Mentoring helped me get to know myself better and understand what I actually expected from the first years of my career.
My mentor was a great support throughout the programme. She helped me navigate situations I was experiencing for the first time – from preparing for a performance review to dealing with workplace conflicts.
That is why I would recommend mentoring to anyone. I didn’t just take away practical advice on how to handle everyday situations, but, most importantly, greater confidence in making decisions about what comes next.
