Students from UTEK attended the “Europe as a Task” conference
On May 5, 2026, students in the UTEK program attended the international conference “Europe as a Task,” held in the Spanish Hall at Prague Castle, with the participation of prominent European statesmen, experts, academics, and representatives of European institutions. The conference was officially opened by Czech President Petr Pavel and Finnish President Alexander Stubb, who emphasized in their speeches the importance of European cooperation, security, and strengthening the European Union’s competitiveness in the current geopolitical environment.
The conference program focused on the key challenges facing Europe today, ranging from security issues and defense policy to economic competitiveness, energy transition, innovation, and the European Union’s strategic autonomy. Students had the opportunity to attend a series of expert panels and discussions led by leading European politicians, diplomats, economists, and experts on European integration.
For UTEK students, attending the conference was a valuable opportunity to connect the theoretical knowledge gained during their studies with the current European debate and practical experience from the field of international politics. Another major benefit was the chance to explore different perspectives on the future direction of the European Union and to discuss topics directly related to their field of study, particularly the sustainable transformation of the European economy and the strengthening of member states’ competitiveness.
