The ninth year of student mentoring is over!
In the academic year 2022/23, the Faculty of International Relations organized the ninth edition of the Student Mentoring Programme. The project is designed for motivated and ambitious first-year students of the Bachelor’s degree programme at the FIR who are determined to develop further, want to learn as much as possible about how to grasp their studies at the beginning and get to their goals. Mentors, who are students in their third and upper years at FIR, help their younger classmates along the way. They share with them the experiences they have gained during their student years, advise them on what they would have done if they had just started college or what they would have done differently in retrospect.
Mentoring is one of the effective tools for passing on personal, work or life experiences with situations that may be encountered when starting a new job or beginning studies. Student mentoring therefore provides first-year students with a space to improve their skills and opens up the world of networking at student level. Among other things, Year 9 participants had the opportunity to attend a practical workshop to improve their presentation skills, meet other mentors and mentees during a networking event, take part in a workshop on proper relaxation, basic psychohygiene and stress management, or go bowling to recharge their batteries before midterms.
We are very pleased that Student Mentoring is very popular with students at FIR. We have already created more than 250 mentor pairs during the lifetime of our project.
The Alumni Mentoring Program is also available for English programs. For more information, please visit this website.
