The 2024 Professor Miroslav Vlček Scholarship Awarded to Outstanding International Business Student

The 2024 Professor Miroslav Vlček Scholarship was awarded to Christina Tanissa, a third-year student of the International Business programme at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE).

The Professor Miroslav Vlček Scholarship is an annual recognition reserved for foreign students studying international degree programmes at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE). The student, in addition to fulfilling her/his study obligations, must have contributed to spreading the reputation of VŠE in the Czech Republic and abroad, have motivated foreign candidates to apply to study in Prague, and have actively participated in research, educational or other activities for the benefit of foreign students of VŠE. The scholarship is awarded annually since 2021.

This year’s recipient Christina started to participate in university activities from her first year at VŠE and in her second year, she became a VŠE Ambassador and she is active in activities of the Faculty of International Relations at VŠE. In her role, Christina has excelled in communicating effectively with both classmates and prospective students, has participated in university fairs, and played an active role in events such as Orientation Week for new students and Open House Day.

Christina also dedicates her enthusiasm and creativity to accompanying international students to the VŠE kindergarten as part of the Little Explorers programme. There, she helps introduce through engaging activities the cultures of international students to children and promotes an international environment at the university.

Alongside her great extracurricular contributions, Christina maintains an outstanding academic record, achieving a perfect average of 1.0 for four consecutive semesters.

The scholarship was presented to Christina by Dana Brázdová, the head of the VŠE International Office in a joint event organized by the Study in Prague consortium in the Residence of the Mayor of the Capital City of Prague on December 4, 2024. Six other students from four Prague public universities, (Academy of Performing Arts, Charles University, Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague) awarded the Professor Miroslav Vlček Scholarship to their equally excellent students.
