Students Will Connect With Graduates Again. FIR Has Launched the Second Year of the Alumni Mentoring Program.
After a successful first year, FIR continues its new Alumni mentoring project in the academic year 2020/2021. The ambitious 8-month program brings together experienced faculty graduates who act as mentors and students or young graduates who are looking for the right direction, are interested in active development and want to find out how best to apply their skills. This year we connected a total of 40 pairs.

The welcome meeting took place online on Wednesday, October 14, due to restrictions on the meeting due to emergency measures. The event was opened by the dean of the faculty doc. Josef Taušer, who thanked all students and graduates and highlighted the connection of graduates with the faculty. The organizational part was followed by workshops for mentors and mentees, so that all pairs know what they are going to do and what to expect from a mentoring relationship.
The workshop for mentors was led by experienced mentor and coach Monika Kubovcová, who has almost twenty years of experience in leading positions in one of the Czech banks. She introduced the mentors to the best practices of mentoring, helped them prepare for the first meeting and developed topics that they can work on with the mentee.
The workshop for mentees was led by leadership, coaching and mentoring expert David Peška, who currently works in one of the Czech savings banks. He introduced the mentees to the course of mentoring, shared with them the topics they can work on, and invited them to take the opportunity to meet regularly with an experienced graduate in full.
Both speakers are members of the FIR Alumni Mentoring Advisory Board, which assists the faculty with the course of the entire program and provides it with feedback on past activities and years.

Monika Kubovcová
Graduate & Mentor
From 2001 to 2018, she worked for the Czech branch of General Electric Bank and held various managerial positions in the field of retail banking, product management, marketing and digital banking. She has been coaching and mentoring since 2008 and has been doing business in this area since 2019.
David Peška
Graduate & Mentor
In 1998, he joined the corporate banking team at Société Générale. After two years, he moved to Komerční banka, where he held various business and management positions. In 2008, he started working for the Blue Pyramid, where he was responsible for its transformation, among other things, and subsequently worked as a regional director. This position is also associated with the emergence of his passion for coaching and mentoring, which he has been actively pursuing ever since.
