Roundtable Discussion “State and Diplomatic Support for Innovations in the Context of Growing International Competition”
On April 10, 2024, as part of the Innovation Week events at the University of Economics in Prague (VŠE), a roundtable discussion titled “STATE AND DIPLOMATIC SUPPORT FOR INNOVATIONS IN THE CONTEXT OF GROWING INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION” took place. Representatives from both government administration and the private sector participated in the debates, namely:
- Mr. Pavel Doleček, Deputy Minister for Science, Research and Innovation
- Mr. Jiří Kozák, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic
- Mr. Petr Očko, Deputy Minister for Digitalization and Innovation at the Ministry of Industry and Trade
- Mr. Lukáš Martin, Director of the International Affairs Department, Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic
- Mr. Jiří Kůs, Founder and Director of nanoSpace
- Mr. Richard Kapsa, Secretary and Head of Communication at SOTIO
- Mrs. Lenka Uldrijanová, Executive Director of INDRC – International Neurodegenerative Disorders Research Centre
The roundtable discussion was moderated by Mr. Jakub Hladík, Owner and Managing Director of InClaris Consulting.
At the beginning of the debate, each speaker presented their institution’s perspective on innovation, how innovations are perceived in their respective sectors, and the significance attributed to them. Throughout the discussion, both successful examples and opportunities for further improvement were mentioned. The debate provided an opportunity for both the public and private sectors to share their views on innovation and forecasts for future developments with a substantial audience, including students and colleagues from the university and other guests.
