Pavel Černý becomes the Director of the Department of Tourism from the 1st April
The Dean of the Faculty of International Relations doc. Josef Taušer charged Ing. Pavel Černý, PhD. to direct of the Department of Tourism from the 1st April 2022. He will lead the department after Ing. Liběna Jarolímková, Ph.D. who was the head of the Department for four years in row.

“My priority is not only to continue with the long tradition of the Department, but also to accelerate its development towards the respected institution in the field of tourism, the academic sphere and relationships with the real-world practice. I will focus on the quality improvement of education in all study levels. I also consider my new role as a challenge and commitment with a goal to provide students such competences that will enable them to use their comparative advantage in the labour market.”
The new director has an experience both in the academic and private field. More than 20 years he works as an advisor of the strategic management for private and public sector with the focus on the investment and non-investment projects, project management and project financing from the EU sources. He also deals with analysis, preparation, and implementation of strategies, especially in the regional development, also sustainable development and local energetics. Mr. Černý is also the chairman of the Local action group Mezilesí for 8 years now, which is an non-governmental subject for the regional development. He also works in professional management and advisory institutions and in the past he was also emplyed in the monitoring department of the programme OP PIK. From the academic sphere he is experienced from the Department of Business and European Law where he also defended his dissertation thesis, and the Department of International Economic Relations, where he lectures the “Project management of EU fund” class.
Pavel Černý graduated from the Prague University of Economic and Business from study programmes International Business and Business Economics and Management. He gained his doctor degree from the Business and International Law.
