Our Students Participated in an EU Institutions Negotiation Simulation in Brussels
During the week of February 17, 2025, the Council of the European Union organized a simulation of EU institutions’ negotiations, ConSIMIum, in Brussels. Two students from our faculty, Martin Sušienka and Jan Urban, were part of the Czech delegation at this prestigious event. Martin Sušienka took on the role of Prime Minister, while Jan Urban served as a Minister.
For the third year in a row, the Student Chamber of the Council of Higher Education Institutions has been involved in selecting students, thanks to the cooperation with the Czech Rectors’ Conference. Last year, universities and faculties across the country helped promote the selection process, allowing students to apply for this significant event.
The visit to Brussels also included a trip to the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, which provided part of the training for the students. This year’s simulation focused on defense and critical raw materials, with diplomats from the Permanent Representation helping students navigate these topics. Their active approach, knowledge, and analytical skills were highly appreciated, highlighting the excellent preparation of our students.
Participating in the ConSIMIum simulation is a valuable experience for students, helping them develop their skills in international diplomacy. The Faculty of International Relations is very proud of its students and looks forward to their future successes on the international stage.
