Naming four new VSE professors at Karolin

Effective from November 5, 2018, when upon the proposal of Science and Arts Councils of High schools the President signed and the Prime Minister countersigned the decrees granting academic rank of professor to high school academicians, the University of Economics, Prague gained 4 more professors.

Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Ing. Robert Plaga presented the decrees on December 18, 2018 in famous Karolin, where Prof. Ing. Jakub Fischer, Ph.D., Dean of Faculty of Informatics and Statistics, delivered a speech on behalf of all the 60 newly named professors.

3 professors went through appointment process at the University of Economics in Prague, unlike professor Fisher whose appointment was considering at Masaryk University in Brno. The two of the newly named professors teach at Faculty of Informatics and Statistics, one – at Faculty of Economics and one is currently a part-timer at Faculty of International Relations.

Prof. Ing. Mgr. Martin DLOUHÝ, Dr., MSc. is Deputy Head of Department of Econometrics at Faculty of Informatics and Statistics. He was granted the academic rank of professor in the field of Econometrics and operating research.

Prof. Ing. Jakub FISCHER, Ph.D. is Dean at Faculty of Informatics and Statistics and a member of Department of Economic Statistics. He was granted the academic rank of professor in the field of Economic policy.

Prof. Ing. Luboš SMRČKA, CSc. Is a member of Department of Strategy at Faculty of Economics. He was granted the academic rank of professor in the field of Business economics and management.

Prof. Ing. Stanislav ŠAROCH, Ph.D. is Vice-rector of private high school Škoda Auto Vysoká škola and also a member of Department of World Economy at Faculty of International Relations. He was granted the academic rank of professor in the field of International economic relations.
