FIR student team won the marketing competition Marketer of the Year – “Young Dolphin”
On Thursday, 19 May 2022, in the ceremony hall of Klub Lávka the gala evening dedicated to the announcement of results of 17th year of the competition Marketer of the Year took place. The student part was called the Young Dolphin.
This year´s winners became the team of FIR students from the Prague University of Economics and Business, consisting of Arina Dolenko and Gabriela Šebetková. The organizer of the competition was the Czech Marketing Agency and its main topic was: “How to successfully communicate the issue of sustainable development in the Czech Republic.” The winning team focused on the improvement of communication in the matter of financial literacy as the two students study the specialization called Commercial Communications from the Department of International Business led by Ing. Milan Postler, Ph.D.
The second place belonged to the two teams from the University of Konstantin Filozof in Nitra. Students from UTB Zlín placed third.

The Young Doplhin
The main topic was “How to successfully communicate the issue of sustainable development in the Czech Republic”. We wanted to approach it from the different perspective than through ecology and environment and we decided to focus on the matter of financial literacy which represents a significant part of the social and economic pillar of the sustainable development. Also, we wanted to attract the different target group than the previous campaign did (it focused mainly on the students and lectors). We were aiming for the attention of parents with the lower education and income, because we think it is important that they know how to develop healthy financial habits and educate their children about them.
The Competition
It was the first competition of its kind I have attended so far and the fact that our project won motivated me to participate again in the future. It has also assured me that marketing is the right path for me to follow. As well as the participation in the competition itself, also the evening of finals was a new experience for me and it was surely an interesting feeling to sit in the beautiful hall of Klub Lávka right next to the professional marketers. It was also very good opportunity for networking. I enjoyed the whole evening a lot,” says student Gabriela Šebetková.
