Faculty of International Relations entered into a partnership with Siemens GBS
FIR is continuously working on strengthening relationships with the private sector and is constantly looking for partnerships with organizations which would bring new insights and experience to the study programmes, teaching process and other activities of FIR.
As of the summer semester 2024, FIR is partnering with another major company – Siemens Global Business Services. This company is a leader in automation, research and delivery of state-of-the-art services and products that can be found across a range of industries, from high-speed trains to digital e-motors to artificial intelligence control systems and smart building solutions.
During the Job Fair Šance, SIEMENS representatives met with the faculties. Ondřej Sankot (Vice Dean for Pedagogy and Development) and Jarolím Antal (Corporate Relations Manager) participated on behalf of FIR. During the meeting, discussions were very rich on the possibilities of further cooperation, challenges for the future and possible expansion of cooperation to the area of contract research and support of general research at VŠE.
Cooperation with the company Siemens will enrich selected study programmes with the expertise of experts from Siemens, e.g. in the field of skills development, intercultural communication, mentoring and personal development or also in the form of case studies.
During the summer semester, Siemens experts have already made several visits to the Faculty of International Relations. In particular, Azamat Bodeneyev gave a lecture on Unleashing the Power of Automation & Digitalization in Large Corporations in the course 2OP401 International Management. Ján Timko shared his knowledge on the topic of Storytelling – How to tell a story? in the course 2OP524 Communication Skills of a Manager.
As part of the Innovation Week, students had the opportunity to participate in the workshop Crafting global cooperation within Siemens: case studies, where Zuzana Vojteková, an experienced professional from Siemens Global Business Services (GBS), shared her experience and stressed the importance of overcoming intercultural barriers to communication in a virtual environment.
