Czech language lessons for Ukrainian refugees
The Faculty of International Relations of the Prague University of Economics and Business has been actively supporting refugees from Ukraine since the beginning of the armed conflict. For example, it has decided to provide them with financial assistance in the form of scholarships, to include them in the courses of the previous semester or to organize the involvement of volunteers from among the students of the faculty. The University itself focused on providing accommodation, fundraising for students or psychological assistance in their native language.
But living in a foreign country without knowing the local language is not easy. We at the FIR are aware of this and therefore we provide Czech language lessons to Ukrainian citizens. To make it easier for them to coexist with the locals, boost their self-confidence, enter the job market and secure a sustainable future.
Educational and financial support for students from Ukraine is provided within the framework of projects of the Ministry of Education, EEA and Norway Grants and in cooperation with the B. Němcov (the latter provided selected students with an additional scholarship of 15 thousand CZK per month).
About the language courses:
- The first round of Czech language courses has already been successfully completed by children of Ukrainian parents who fled the war situation in their country.
- The courses are currently being run for current and future students of Czech universities and for teaching staff.
- Language classes are always enriched with basic cultural knowledge of the Czech Republic to facilitate the integration of Ukrainian citizens into Czech society.
- Czech language classes will be offered in the future. If you are interested, please follow the news on the official websites of the FMV and VŠE in Prague.
We are happy to help.
