About Cryptocurrencies with Jakub Jedlinský from FIR
Ing. Jakub Jedlinský, Ph.D. from the Department of International Economic Relations of the Faculty of International Relations has been involved in cryptocurrencies and alternative currency systems for a long time. He teaches courses on Bitcoin and blockchain, Cryptocurrencies and other alternative currency solutions in global practice and regularly comments on the topic of cryptocurrencies in the media. He has also presented at three professional conferences in the last two months.
As part of the Fintech Roadmap 2022 conference, which took place on 22 April 2022 at Mendel University in Brno, Jakub Jedlinský participated in a panel discussion at the very end of the event. Together with Jakub Vejmola (author of the Bitcoin Channel), Kirill Juran from Simple Tax&Law and Jan Krajča from Bitcoinmat, the topics of digital currencies of central banks, regulations and the future of cryptocurrencies in the Czech Republic and Slovakia were discussed. The conference was devoted to fintech in general, but the participation in this panel discussion and the questions on specific details are an indicator that cryptocurrencies will play an increasingly important role in the finance industry.
On Saturday, May 7, 2022, the Cryptobyte conference took place in Liberec, which is loosely related to one of the largest Czech crypto events, the Chaincamp. Jakub Jedlinský focused his presentation on the principles of proper creation of tokenomics. The importance of this topic in the eyes of the professional public – especially in view of the collapse of some widespread cryptoprojects – is growing, which corresponded to the interest in this lecture.
Overall, we can observe an increasing number of visitors at these conferences and the emergence of new projects that can help the Czech Republic become a technological and business leader in the field of cryptocurrencies in the upcoming years.
On the weekend of June 4-5, 2022, Jakub Jedlinský gave four presentations at the UTXO 2022 conference. He spoke about the phenomenon of CBDCs in a panel with Lukáš Kovanda, about the Stable Coin project in a panel with entrepreneurs and regulators, about tokenomics, Steve Keen and how to survive a bear market, and about modelling economic phenomena in his own talk with Petr Lukáč from HN.
