10th year of the Student Mentoring programme at FIR
In the academic year 2023/2024, the Faculty of International Relations of the Prague University of Economics and Business launched its successful mentoring programme for the tenth time. The Student Mentoring Programme is a project aimed at supporting first-year bachelor students who are matched with seniors who are passionate about passing on their experience.
A total of 25 matched pairs were connected as part of the 10th annual program full of development and networking opportunities.
During the winter semester, participants had the chance to take part in the Confident Communication workshop with Václav Strnadel, the How to Fight Stress and Effectively Unwind workshop with PhDr. Lenka Šilerová, Ph.D., as well as strengthening relationships and expanding their network during the informal event Mentoring Drink.
During the summer semester, they further expanded their knowledge about the importance of personal branding in the digital world in a workshop Personal Branding for Gen Z with Hana Blažková and Paul Kučera. Mentors and mentees also spent a pleasant sport-filled evening during the Mentoring Bowling and the popular event Mentoring drink was not missed in this semester either.
During the year, the pairs also met individually regularly to deepen their relationship and work effectively towards the mentees’ academic and personal goals.
The official end of the programme took place in April 2024 at the Academic Club of the Prague University of Economics and Business, where the entire course was officially concluded and the participants were reminded of everything they had experienced and learned together during the year.
This tenth year has confirmed that FMV Student Mentoring is a valuable addition to studies, bringing students not only support but also inspiration for their future professional and personal paths.
We are proud to have connected more than 270 mentor pairs over the ten years of the program’s existence and are already looking forward to the next year!
Applications for the new season of Student Mentoring are expected to open during August 2024, with a launch in late September/October 2024.
