Appointment of the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs and the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs
From May 2023, the agenda of academic affairs will be divided and will now be handled by two Vice-Deans:
Mgr. Ing. Daniel Houska, Ph.D., Vice-Dean for Study Affairs
- responsible for the overall care of students and the study agenda, including the study department
Ing. Ondřej Sankot, Ph.D., Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs
- responsible for matters related to teaching, including quality management, accreditation and the development of study programs
„At FIR, students come first. We do not want the growing agenda of the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs in connection with the introduction of new forms of teaching, projects in the field of quality management of teaching and development of academic staff, etc., to be at the expense of quality care for students.
We have therefore decided to create a separate position of Vice-Dean for Study Affairs, who will be solely responsible for student affairs and the development of new projects directly for students, in particular internships, support of the study department, and developing individual attention to talented students.
In the area of pedagogy, we will then focus on improving the quality of final theses, developing lifelong learning and introducing Moodle into teaching. We perceive the organisational change as a logical development, which aligns with the approach of the best domestic and foreign universities, where two separate positions also normally exist,” says the Dean of the Faculty doc. Josef Taušer.
