This department concentrates on the preparation of managers for top managerial positions in all branches of the tourist trade. Close cooperation with economic practice is typical of the instruction given, and the research carried out by the department. Most recently, the department has started concentrating on research into the sustainable development of the tourist industry. Members of the department are participating in preparation of fundamental materials for tourism and hotel management in the Czech Republic and international commissions, e.g., CEN (Comité Europeen de Normalisation).
