FIR Has Two New Associate Professors. Vincenzo Merella and Přemysl Průša Received a Decree From the Rector.

During the meeting of the Scientific Board of the University of Economics, Prague, which took place on June 23, 2020, the Rector of the University of Economics, Prague Prof. Hana Machková handed over the decrees to the new associate professors.

Assoc. Prof. Vincenzo Merella, MSc., Ph.D., Researcher at the Faculty of International Relations of the University of Economics.
Assoc. Prof. Vincenzo Merella, MSc., Ph.D., defended his habilitation thesis on “Economic Models of Quality Innovation” at the Scientific Board of the Faculty of International Relations on March 4, 2020. He was appointed Associate Professor for International Economic Relations with effect from May 1, 2020.

Assoc. Prof. Merella has been working at the University of Cagliari since 2005. He also lectured at the City University of London (2008-2010) and the University of St. St. Gallen (2012). He lectures in both bachelor’s and master’s courses with overlap into doctoral studies in the field of macroeconomics, financial derivatives and international trade.

Assoc. Prof. Ing. Přemysl Průša, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of Retailing and Commercial Communications, Faculty of International Relations, University of Economics, Prague.
Assoc. Prof. Ing. Přemysl Průša, Ph.D., defended his habilitation thesis on “Consumer Behavior and Trends in the Wine Market in the Czech Republic and the World” at the Scientific Board of the Faculty of International Relations on March 4, 2020. Appointed Associate Professor for International Economic Relations with effect from 1 May 2020.

Assoc. Prof. Průša has been teaching at the Department of Business Administration and Commercial Communications since 2005 as an assistant, and since 2009 as an assistant professor. He participates in the teaching of key compulsory subjects Retail Marketing and Retail Management in the bachelor’s study program International Trade in the Czech Language. He then prepared analogous courses in English so that they could be introduced as compulsory in the bachelor’s study program International Business in English.
