Ayaz Zeynalov, a new associate professor at the Faculty of International Relations

At the meeting of the Scientific Board of the Prague University of Economics and Business, which took place on 5 March 2024, the Rector doc. Ing. Petr Dvořák, Ph.D., handed over appointment decrees to new associate professors. One of them is Associate Professor Ayaz Zeynalov from the Department of International Economic Relations. Congratulations!

Assoc. Prof. Ayaz Zeynalov, M.A., Ph.D., successfully defended his habilitation thesis on the topic “Essays on Resource-Led Growth and Institutional Factors in Developing Countries” at the Scientific Board of the Faculty of International Relations on December 13, 2023. He was appointed associate professor in the field of “International Economic Relations,” effective from February 1, 2024.

Ayaz Zeynalov, M.A., Ph.D. is an assistant professor in the Department of International Economic Relations since January 2021 and a researcher of the International Research Centre FIR. Previously worked at the Jan Masaryk Centre for International Studies. He received his master’s degree from Qafqaz University in Baku and CERGE-EI. He received his Ph.D. in 2017 from the Institute of Economic Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University. In 2020, he was a member of the TAČR project research team entitled Oil Price Drop: Research on the Impact on producer states in the EU’s neighborhood. His research interests include natural resource economics, economic development, institutional governance, and applied econometrics. His published papers have studied possible publication bias and the reasons for contradictory findings in the natural resource literature, as well as the role of institutional governance on the negative relationship between natural resource richness and economic development, particularly in developing countries.
