Students from the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE) dominated again in the competition POPAI STUDENTS AWARDS 2017.

On Thursday 23rd November 2017, the results of the competition POPAI STUDENT AWARD 2017 were announced at the ceremonial gala evening in TOP HOTEL Prague 4 – Chodov.

The first three places, in the student’s section: project In-store communication campaign according to brief of the company Plzeňský Prazdroj – Kingswood, took student teams from the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE), who made their project in the subject Retail Marketing at the Department of Retailing and Commercial Communications. In total 15 student teams from four schools and universities took part in this competition. The jury announced two second places.

Students put forward a proposal In-store communications strategy for Cider. Qualified Jury consisted of professionals in practice and educators, evaluated students’ suggested solutions from the point of view of elected strategy and continuity of the brand’s communication, creativity and innovation of solution and the level of completion in the other media types out of the In-store communication. Part of the evaluation was the attractiveness of the solution for the aimed group and the complex impression too.

All the students in the subject Retail Marketing, under the guidance of Ing. Milan Postler – the guarantor of the course, received for the summer semester of academic year 2016/2017 assignment, which was prepared by the company Plzeňský Prazdroj for the competition Popai Students Awards 2017, for creation whole-semestrial case study in practice. Teams with 5-6 students were working on the topic. 5 student teams – four teams were consisted of bachelor students from the Faculty of International Relations, one team was composed by masters students  of study in Retail marketing within secondary specialization Retail business from the University of Economics in Prague voluntarily registered to the competition POPAI STUDENT AWARD 2017. Teams were consisted of students from various faculties of VŠE. And this team won. Students teams from the University of Economics in Prague participated in competition Popai Students Awards within the subject Retail Marketing already for fourth time in a row and always some of them won. Just as last year our teams were placed at the first three places, this year was the situation the same.

The students’ accomplishments in this competition have confirmed usefulness in connection of theoretic and practical knowledge from the subject Retail marketing during elaboration of case study. Within the cooperation leading experts lecture in this subject about the issues of consumers’ behaviour, CRM, Sales promotion, In-store marketing, Retail audit, online communication and business. The students’ success is a challenge for future students in summer semester in subject Retail marketing, who will receive the assignment in practice for this competition too. The competition is open for all the students from the University of Economics in Prague, who are interested in this topic, who like competing and of course who want to win.
