FIR Graduates in Diplomacy – Edita Hrdá, Permanent Representative of CR to United Nations

The Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations Edita Hrdá graduated from the Faculty of Trade, predecessor of the Faculty of International Relations, in 1986. As a graduate, she was working as a freelance translator and interpreter in German and Spanish.

In 1991 and 1992 Edita Hrdá studied at Diplomatic academies in Madrid and in Vienna and in 1992 she joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where she was later appointed as a Director of the Department for Latin America and for Central Europe. In years 1999 to 2003 Edita Hrdá served as an Ambassador to Argentina and Paraguay.

Since 2011 Edita Hrdá holds the post of the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the United Nations. In year 2011 she was elected to serve as the President of the Executive Board of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS.
