FIR graduate Michaela Santa Barbara leads a Security Services team at IBM in Atlanta

msb thai headshotMichaela Santa Barbara completed the International Trade program at the University of Economics in Prague in 1998 and graduated with Masters of Business Administration from University of Maryland, with concentration in strategy and finance. Her career at IBM started on September 10th, 2001 in New York City in the Wall Street office which she has not visited since.

For the first 4 years of her IBM career she was in a strategy consultant role for investment and commercial banks where she led advisory projects on topics of new market entries, growth strategies and e-commerce platforms. Subsequently, she joined the corporate strategy division of IBM's services division with focus on emerging markets, outsourcing and acquisitions. She has spent the last 6 years in a transformation leader role for North America outsourcing division, managing complex programs to drive innovation, productivity, quality and global workforce strategy.

During her 13 year career at IBM, Michaela had a chance to work in China, India, Taiwan and the USA. In 2013, she was selected for IBM Corporate Services Corps program, a selective leadership program that deploys small teams to community-based assignments in developing countries - and spent a month developing business plan for a no-profit association in Morocco.

Today, Michaela lives in Atlanta and leads a global strategy, product marketing and enablement team of IBM Security Services. In her free time, Michaela enjoys spending time with her family (husband, 3 kids and 2 basset hounds), traveling and trying anything new.
